Stranded semis snarl I-25 traffic Thursday morning

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Northbound I-25 is now open up to Baptist Road after emergency crews assisted numerous stranded semis and got them back on the road.

As 11 News reported earlier Thursday, the semis were causing major backups at the Woodmen and North Nevada exits as confused drivers thought they were supposed to stop behind the semis instead of driving past them.

The truck drivers had stopped due to conditions Wednesday and have since been waiting for the highway to reopen north to Denver.

11 News drove past the growing backups at Woodmen early Thursday morning.
