Thousands without power as storm pummels area

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) -- Thousands of people are without power because of several outages across the area.

More than 2,100 customers are without power near Fillmore and Union in Colorado Springs.

Mountain View said over 18,000 customers are without power. Officials say in some cases, equipment has been damaged and there's no estimate of when power will be restored.

Mountain View Electric also posted this statement on Facebook yesterday: "Colorado weather can be unpredictable. The forecast for March 13 includes high wind speeds and snow.
