FREMONT COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - A tragic crash in Colorado claimed the life of a 21-year-old woman and nearly claimed the life of a teenager.
The Colorado State Patrol is reporting the crash happened along Fremont County Road 19 just south of Florence on Saturday. Justin Lopez Jr., 17, was reportedly driving a Ford F-150 eastbound when he lost control and went off the road. The truck hit a bridge and rolled into a dry riverbed before bursting into flames.
Mackenzie Clausen, 21, was a passenger in the vehicle and died. She was from Florence.
Lopez Jr. was able to crawl out of the vehicle and flown by helicopter to the hospital. His family tells 11 News 86 percent of his body is covered in burns and he is facing possible amputation on both legs. He's expected to be hospitalized for at least a year in Denver.

Investigators state both Lopez Jr. and Clausen were wearing seatbelts. Speed is being considered a possible factor in the crash.
Colorado State Patrol and the Fremont County District Attorney’s Office are considering charges in the case, as of Tuesday no charges were publicly announced.
