Suspect threatens woman with hammer, steals her car

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Colorado Springs police were looking for the man who reportedly stole a woman’s car after threatening her with a hammer Friday morning.

According to police, a woman was going into work when a man came up to her and threatened her with a hammer. He reportedly took her purse, keys and car. Police said this happened just after 5:30 a.m. in the 2000 block of Lelaray Street, which is east of Patty Jewett Golf Course.

The suspect is described as a thin man with a mustache who’s between 20 and 30 years old. He was reportedly wearing a gray hooded jacket and blue jeans. Police consider him armed and dangerous.

The woman’s car is a red 2008 Chevrolet Equinox. She was not hurt during the carjacking.
