Stranger danger incident reported in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A mother came to 11 News concerned about a man who allegedly asked her son if he wanted to "see his private parts."

Police are referring to the call as a "stranger danger" incident. It reportedly happened at about 4 p.m. on Monday in the 4900 block of Meadowland Dr. The neighborhood is right next to Keller Park near N. Academy Boulevard and Montebello Drive.

11 News has video of the alleged suspect, but is choosing not to share it until authorities confirm the man is wanted or arrested for the alleged crime.

The victim is a middle school student who was walking in the area. The suspect is described as white, thin, about 5-foot-8 with strawberry-blonde hair. At the time he was wearing a maroon hoodie and black pants. He allegedly offered to expose himself to the student according to police.

The mother of the victim showed 11 News video of her confronting the suspect.

ā€œIā€™m trying to teach my kids that no matter what the situation is you have to go to an adult, you have to say something and it has to be reported," the mother stated. "I'm very proud of him.ā€
