Hours-long standoff in La Junta comes to an end

LA JUNTA, Colo. (KKTV) - The SWAT team was called to a neighborhood in La Junta Monday morning.

The La Junta police chief said it all started at about 6 in the morning as they worked to execute a search warrant tied to a burglary. They tried to make contact with the suspects at 317 Carson Ave. Three of the four people in the residence had outstanding warrants.

Three of the people left the property at about 10:30 a.m. and two were taken into custody. The fourth person surrendered peacefully at 4 p.m.

The burglary happened at about 5 in the morning.

La Junta is about 70 miles southeast of Pueblo.
