COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Police were involved in what was originally considered a "barricaded" situation with at least one suspect at an apartment complex behind a post office east of downtown Colorado Springs on Wednesday. At least one shot was fired during the incident. No one was injured.

"All subjects" were in custody at about 2 p.m. according to police.

11 News was told the suspect was armed with a long rifle that he fired into the air at least once.

11 News was initially told the situation was at the post office near Circle and Uintah. Police clarified the barricaded scene was in the complex behind that building.

The incident started just before noon. Police were first called out to Uintah and Yuma on the report of a shot fired. A witness told authorities the suspect ran away from the area, police were able to figure out where the suspect lives and took him into custody following the "barricaded" incident. Police later said the suspect was never technically barricaded and that he had actually tried fleeing the scene.

Police say multiple witnesses may have lied to officers as to where the shooter was. Those witnesses could face charges for not telling officers the truth.

The suspect taken into custody has not been identified.
