Springs police arrest suspect hiding in Starbucks attic

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Colorado Springs police officers arrested a man after they found him hiding in the attic of a business they say he broke into Friday morning.

According to police, officers responded to the Starbucks near Nevada Avenue and Brookside Street around 12:06 a.m. for a reported burglary.

When they got there, the person who called officers told them he had gone to the store to pick up donation items and saw there was dry wall on the floor and a saw-blade cutting through the roof. At that point, the man said he left the store and called police.

Officers went inside the building and said they saw a fist-sized hole in the ceiling.

Colorado Springs firefighters were called to help the police officers get on the roof. From there, police say officers went into an attic and found Marcus Clark hiding under insulation. Police arrested him and took him to jail.
