Shots fired following home invasion in Colorado Springs
Police say after a man robbed Colorado Springs residents in their own home, he fired shots at someones as he was running away.
Police are reporting the crime happened at about 1:22 p.m. on Thursday in the 900 block of Alexander Road. The neighborhood is near N. Union Boulevard and E. Platte Avenue. After entering a residence in that neighborhood, police say the suspect stole several items from the people inside. The suspect then fled the residence on foot. While leaving he fired two rounds from a handgun at a person who was following him.
Police say no one was injured in the incident and the suspect got away.
The suspect is described as a black man in his late thirties, about six-foot two-inches tall, approximately 200 pounds and bald. At the time of the crime he was reportedly wearing a black leather jacket, baggy pants and boots.
The investigation is ongoing.
