Shooting under investigation in southeast Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A shooting reported in the Springs' southeast side is under investigation, as police say it may have happened differently than the caller described.

A police lieutenant tells 11 News a woman called early Monday stating that her fiance had been shot at a store in the area of Powers Boulevard and Airport Road. She said he then returned to their home in the 5100 block of Airport.

Officers responded to the house and found the victim with a nonlife-threatening gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital.

The lieutenant told 11 News police have reason to believe the shooting may have actually happened at the house and not at a store as the woman claimed. They are now investigating the incident further.

No arrests have been made.
