Shooting under investigation in southeast Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Colorado Springs police were investigating a shooting on the southeast side of the city Wednesday night.

Police said they were called out to the 2000 block of Carmel Drive around 9:30 p.m. The neighborhood is just east of South Circle Drive and north of Monterey Road.

Officers said they found a man who had been shot in the arm there. He reported to police that he was sitting in his truck when a suspect approached him, pointed a gun at him and demanded everything he had. The man told police he refused to give the suspect anything, and that's when the suspect shot him and ran off. Officers searched the area but said they could not find the suspect.

Police said the man's gunshot wound was serious but not life-threatening.

Officers said the suspect is a man with short black hair who was wearing a dark hoodie and dark pants.
