COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Authorities have identified the victim in a deadly shooting in Cimarron Hills last week.

The El Paso County Coroner's Office says 26-year-old William Underwood was the man who was shot in a residential street on the night of Sept. 17.

The county sheriff's office responded to the 1900 block of Shawnee Drive after several neighbors called 911 reporting gunshots in the area. Deputies found Underwood lying on the sidewalk.

"When deputies arrived on scene they did find a deceased adult male," said El Paso County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Jacqueline Kirby.

The sheriff's office has not located the shooter and has asked anyone with information to call the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Tip Line at 719-520-6666 or dispatch at 719-390-5555.

Hours after the shooting that claimed Underwood's life, a second person was found shot at a gas station about a mile from the Shawnee Drive scene. At this time, deputies do not know if the two shootings are connected. The victim in the second shooting sustained life-threatening injuries.
