Shooting at Colorado Springs Old Chicago during robbery

An armed crook shot the manager of a Colorado Springs pizza joint during an attempted holdup inside the restaurant Saturday night.
According to police, the suspect was alone when he hit up the Old Chicago at Austin Bluffs and Academy. He found the manager and struck up a conversation before attempting to get cash from the restaurant.
"During the process of attempting to rob the business, fired a weapon, striking the manager," said Sgt. Phil Tollefson
The would-be robber fled the building empty-handed after the shooting.
The manager's injuries were severe but not life-threatening., Tollefson said,
As of Sunday morning, the suspect remains on the run. Police did not have a suspect description available.
The suspect was last seen heading west on foot from the restaurant.
