COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A sexually violent predator will be living near downtown, Springs police announced Monday.

Shelwyn Williams, 56, is currently on parole and will be living in the area of West Las Vegas Street. Police say he's homeless.

Williams was convicted of second-degree sexual assault in 2000 for allegedly assaulting two 13-year-old girls. In addition, he has twice been convicted for failing to register as a sex offender.

Williams is described as a 5-foot-6, 152-pound black male with black hair and black eyes and has several tattoos on his arms.

State law requires law enforcement to alert the public when a sexually violent predator moves into a new area. For more information on other sexually violent predators currently living in Colorado Springs, click here.
