COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A busy street in Colorado Springs was closed last Tuesday afternoon for a serious crash involving a bicyclist and a dump truck.

On Monday, authorities announced the victim died on Sunday. The cyclist was publicly identified as 32-year-old Jeffery Alcorn of Colorado Springs, marking the 13th traffic death in 2019.

The crash happened at Fillmore Street and Union Boulevard last Tuesday. Parts of the intersection were closed for the investigation.

Investigators with the Colorado Springs Police Department believe the dump truck was travelling southbound on N. Union Boulevard when it attempted to turn right onto westbound on E. Fillmore Street with a green light. While making the turn, the truck hit Alcorn, who was reportedly trying to cross the intersection on N. Union Boulevard. Investigators don't believe excessive speed or impairment contributed to the deadly crash. As of Monday, no charges have been filed in the case.

Police are still asking any witnesses who have not talked to them to call 719-444-7000 with information.
