Troopers say an eastbound Honda Civic was turning off of Highway 50 onto Purcell Boulevard at the same time a Chevrolet Traverse was crossing the intersection. The two cars crashed, and the teen was thrown from her vehicle. Investigators say she had been wearing a seat belt.

State Patrol says both drivers, 72-year-old Victoria Krob in the Honda and 18-year-old Gracie Bishop in the Chevy, suffered injuries in the crash.

CSP told 11 News reporter Kasia Kerridge on scene it was unclear which driver was at fault. That is still under investigation at the time of this update Thursday.

The 15-year-old was identified by the coroner as Jordan Scheinert of Pueblo West. She was reportedly a passenger in the Honda. District 70 confirmed Jordan was a 10th grader enrolled in the D-70 Online School in Pueblo West.

In a statement Thursday morning, District 70 says, "It is with profound sadness I report on the unexpected and untimely death of one of our District 70 community...Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of both District 70 students, and to the driver in the other vehicle. During this time, as the school community processes the tragic news and copes with grief, we will offer counseling and support services to our students and staff."
