Sen. Michael Bennet announces presidential run

DENVER (KKTV) - Another Coloradan is running for president.

Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet announced on CBS This Morning that he was throwing his hat into the increasingly-crowded 2020 ring.

The two-term senator has made no secret his desire to run for president, acknowledging that it was for that reason he underwent a physical earlier in the year, where he learned he had early-stage prostate cancer.

He later told the Colorado Independent he still intended to announce his candidacy if he was cancer-free following surgery. On April 19, his office announced the surgery had indeed been a success.

Bennet is the 21st Democrat to enter the race for the 2020 nomination.
