COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A student could face charges after making up a school threat and prompting a scare Monday.
The purported threat targeted Palmer High and began circulating online before school Monday morning. District 11 spokesperson Devra Ashby confirmed several Safe2Tell tips were submitted concerning the threat.
While police investigated, the district increased security at Palmer, including checking IDs of all of the students who entered the school.
The threat was later deemed not credible. Officials were able to trace it back to the student where it originated.
Ashby told 11 News the student would be facing disciplinary action by school officials and could potentially face criminal charges.
