Santa on Patrol has been postponed to Dec. 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event was originally scheduled for Dec. 17, but due to the weather it has been pushed out a week later.

Those looking to help bring Christmas cheer to children in Monument can help out with "Santa On Patrol." For 23 years, the chief for the Monument Police Department has been delivering toys to children and families in need.

In 2015 more than 1,000 toys were collected and delivered. Chief Jacob Shirk says this year they're far from that mark and may have to cancel the event unless a miracle happens.

Shirk is asking for unwrapped new toys, gift cards or cash to be delivered to the Monument Police Department no later than Friday, Dec. 23. The department is located at 154 N. Washington St.
