COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A rollover crash blocked several lanes of I-25 Tuesday night in Colorado Springs, and police are searching for the driver who may have caused the crash and left the scene.

The crash happened at about 6 p.m. south of the Bijou exit in the southbound lanes. One vehicle ended upside down across two lanes. Two other vehicles were damaged in the crash.

According to the information posted by police, investigators believe a white "box van" hit a small Hyundai SUV. The SUV was forced from its lane and hit the side of a Jeep. The Jeep rolled and ended upside down on the highway.

The white box van reportedly fled the area.

Officers are asking the public for help in the investigation. They are looking for any video, witness testimony or information that could help the case.

"The male driver of the Jeep emerged from the overturned SUV proclaiming the benefits of wearing seatbelts," Lt. Graves with Colorado Springs Police wrote online.

The highway was back open by 8 p.m.
