PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) - A motorcyclist was killed early Sunday morning after crashing at an intersection in Pueblo.
Police told 11 News the rider hit a traffic island while driving through the Santa Fe Avenue and Santa Fe Drive intersection, causing him to lose control. He and the bike reportedly skid for several meters before coming to rest. The rider was not wearing a helmet and died on scene.
A friend was riding with the victim but was unhurt. He remained at the crash site while officers investigated.
Police say alcohol may have played a role.
The rider has been identified as 42-year-old Christopher Montoya.
