Hostage situation at New Jersey UPS facility ends with suspect shot

LOGAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (KKTV) - Two women are now safe after a hostage situation inside a New Jersey UPS warehouse.

The building was evacuated just before 8 a.m. local time after shots were fired inside. SWAT responded to reports of an active shooter situation at the warehouse, where they discovered two women were being held hostage.

The situation became a standoff, ending when the suspect was shot. CBS Philly, citing unnamed sources, report that the suspect was holding his girlfriend and another woman hostage. No injuries have been reported to the women or any of the other 32 people inside the building when the ordeal started.

The suspect's condition is unknown.

UPS released the following statement:

“UPS is working with law enforcement as they respond to an active shooter situation at one of the company’s supply chain processing facilities in Logan Township, New Jersey. We cannot provide information about the identity of people involved at this time.”
