Rep. Doug Lamborn announces his candidacy for reelection representing Colorado

WASHINGTON (KKTV) - Republican Congressman Doug Lamborn announced his candidacy for reelection on Thursday to represent the Fifth Congressional District of Colorado.

Democratic candidates include Jillian Freeland and George English.

Lamborn last won reelection with 57 percent of the vote against Democrat Stephany Rose Spaulding who had 39 percent of the vote.

Congressman Lamborn currently serves on two committees in Congress. On the House Armed Services Committee, he is the Ranking Member of the Readiness Subcommittee, which has oversight of approximately $300 billion of military spending. He also sits on the Tactical Air and Land Forces Subcommittee. In the next Congress, Lamborn is in line to be the fourth most senior Republican on the 62-member committee.
