Pueblo police are investigating a fatal crash after a delivery truck driver allegedly ran a stop sign.

The call to police came in just before 9:45 a.m. Friday. It happened at the intersection of Adams Avenue and Jackson Street. The intersection will be closed for several hours, say police.

The investigation revealed the driver of a bottled water delivery truck, a 26-year-old man, ran a stop sign after while heading north on Adams Avenue toward Lincoln Street. The truck then rammed into the passenger side of a Chrysler PT Cruiser that was heading east on Jackson Street.

A 70-year-old woman, who was the passenger in the PT Cruiser, was pronounced dead on scene. The car was driven by a 65-year-old woman.

Both of the drivers did not suffer serious injuries.

Police say the driver of the delivery truck was taken to the police station for the investigation and is fully cooperating. It's unclear if he faces any charges at this point.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
