Man arrested for hit-and-run crash that left victim driver and 6-year-old child seriously injured in Pueblo, suspect caught
The Pueblo Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run crash that happened early Monday morning.
Police say the driver of the truck involved fled from the scene. They have also determined that the driver was in a stolen truck and is on parole.
31-year-old Jeremy Molina has been identified as the driver of the suspect vehicle; which was reported stolen on Sunday. You can view his prior mugshots down below. He was arrested soon after fleeing the crash.
Authorities believe that when Molina saw police, he began driving erratically. He then crashed head on to another car that had a woman and her 6-year-old child inside.
Both of them sustained serious injuries and were flown to other hospitals for treatment.
The driver of the stolen car had a passenger inside also. They also suffered serious injuries. Neither of them were wearing seat belts.
The westbound lanes of 4th St. at Midtown were shut down while officers investigated. The lanes were reopened around 9:30 a.m.
11 News learned the child in the victim's vehicle was in the front seat wearing a seatbelt but was not properly restrained. According to the State of Colorado, child restraint requirements are in place for children up to the age of 8.
