Probation officer arrested in Prowers County for bribery and drug charges

A part-time probation officer and former law enforcement officer was arrested for bribery and drug-related charges on Friday.

Eric Todd Cope was arrested on allegations of bribery, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance and official misconduct.

Cope, 35, lives in Lamar and is currently free on a $10,000 bond. Cope was placed on paid administrative leave.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is the investigating agency.
