The Colorado Department of Transportation plans to do pothole repairs on northbound I-25 near Fountain Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

The planned work is expected to start at about 8 p.m. on Wednesday and go through 4 a.m. Thursday. Traffic will be reduced to one lane, alternating directions with help from flaggers. Motorists should be aware the speed limit will be reduced to 45 m.p.h. during the repairs.

The work is taking place from mile marker 132 to 135 (The Widefield/Security exit to S. Academy.)

The following tips come from CDOT.

-Do not speed in work zones. Obey the posted speed limits.

-Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.

-Watch for workers. Drive with caution.

-Don't change lanes unnecessarily.

-Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones

-Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.

-Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.

-Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.

-Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.

-Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.

-Be patient!
