Arrest made in deadly Colorado Springs shooting

Colorado Springs, Colo. (KKTV) - An arrest was made in a deadly downtown Colorado Springs shooting that happened Thursday.

Police publicly identified the victim as 26-year-old Jaylon Morgan and announced the arrest of 27-year-old Timothy Key. Key turned himself in according to police. Key is facing a charge of second-degree murder.

Police said in happened near Cascade and Kiowa around 2:15 a.m. Officers said they responded to a report of a shooting in the 100 block of North Cascade Avenue and found a man with a gunshot wound.

Police told 11 News officers and firefighters tried to save the man, but he died on scene.

"This was around the time of bars closing in the area," Lt. Howard Black said. "We know there was a lot of foot traffic around. So if anybody has information, please contact the Colorado Springs Police Department."

Police said officers were looking to see if any nearby businesses have surveillance video.
