BLANCA, Colo. (KKTV) - Police say they have located a missing newborn after her mother ditched the hospital Monday night.

The infant was born at home Sunday in Blanca. Police say her mother is a known drug user, and because of that, was told by Child Protective Services to bring the baby to Alamosa Hospital. The mother agreed, but after arriving at the hospital allegedly took off with her child. She was last seen getting into a late model, gold-colored Chrysler Imperial.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation said just after 9:30 Tuesday morning that the child had been found, but did not disclose any further information.

It's unknown at this time if the mother is in custody.

Police identified the mother as 30-year-old Cynthia Sandoval and the child as Leah Sandoval.
