Police search for armed robbery suspect in southeast Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - On Wednesday afternoon, officers were searching for a man who robbed a Colorado Springs store at gunpoint.

Police said the crime was reported at 1:29 p.m. near the 1700 block of South Circle Drive, which is on the southeast side of the city.

The suspect reportedly walked into the building, reached for a gun, and demanded money from the clerk.

Shortly after that, a man who was also in the store confronted the suspect and criminal fled the scene on foot.

Police brought a out a K-9 unit to search for the suspect, but were not able to track him down.

According to witnesses, the suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his 20s. Police believe he his about 5'8", has a shaved head, and could be wearing all black clothes.
