Evidence suggests 2 Colorado Springs homicides are related

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Police have now released the names of two men found deceased this past Sunday.

Kashaun Antonio, 23, was found shot to death on Mazatlan Circle and 21-year-old Jamil Hopper was found dead under a bridge near Ellston and I-25.

Detectives say there is evidence to suggest these deaths are related.

Police say they were called to Mazatlan Circle near Chelton and Fountain around 6:40 p.m. Sunday.

"Upon arrival, they located an adult male with apparent gunshot wounds in the street," said Lt. Jim Sokolik with the Colorado Springs Police Department.

A little over an hour later, a body was found on Ellston Street underneath I-25.

There have been five confirmed homicides as of this year. Last year around this time, there were two.

No information about potential suspects has been released.
