A roofer died in a crash Wednesday afternoon after being pinned between two vehicles, police said.
Police responded to the crash just before 4:30 p.m. on Colorado Springs' east side, in the area of Springs Ranch Drive and Pioneer Creek Drive.
"An individual who was working in the area doing a roofing job was pinned in between a moving vehicle and a work trailer," said Sgt. L.C. Morgan with the Colorado Springs Police Department.
The victim has been identified as 38-year-old Mario of Amaya of Colorado Springs.
Amaya was reportedly standing next to the trailer when a SUV crashed into it. Police do not think the teen driver was speeding, but do believe sun glare was a factor in the crash.
"It does appear there were some sun conditions with the sun setting in the west, with the driver heading in that same direction," Morgan said.
"Just bad timing, just a really unfortunate situation."
