Police: Children in home when Fort Carson soldiers threaten to shoot family
Four soldiers turned themselves in after allegedly threatening a family of four during a break-in Sunday night.
Springs police say two small children were inside the home when one of the suspects came in with a gun and threatened to shoot the family. The men also allegedly demanded the family hand over some of their property. When the family refused, police say the suspects left, but not before warning the victims that they'd return.
The suspects and victims knew each other according to police, who did not elaborate on the relationship.
The break-in happened at 6:30 p.m. on the 1100 block of Verde Drive. The suspects all turned themselves in later that night. They've been identified as Dustin Mincy, Mykall Hall, Aaron Perry and Roman Alred. Police say all are soldiers from Fort Carson.
The men face charges of first-degree burglary and child abuse, among others.
