Police: Service dog bites Colorado Springs motel manager

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) A motel manager on North Nevada Avenue got bit by a service dog on Tuesday morning, but is expected to be OK.

It happened just before noon at a motel on Nevada just south of Garden of the Gods.

Police say the manager tried to break up a fight between two people when a service dog, that belonged to one of the people involved, nipped the manager in the leg.

The dog, described as a Blue Heeler mix, tore his pants, but police said the man refused medical treatment.

Animal Control issued the dog's owner a citation for the dog bite and no proof of vaccination.

The dog was allowed to stay with the owner, police said.
