A moviegoer is now facing charges of attempted murder after allegedly trying to run down a security guard with his car.

Police say it all started with the customer being told to leave Regal Interquest Stadium on Interquest Saturday night.

A security guard followed the suspect out of the building to get information on his car. Police say suspect Tomasz Sobolewski threatened to run him over if the guard kept following. Once he was in his vehicle, the 37-year-old allegedly put it into reverse and drove straight at the security guard. After getting hit, the security guard hid behind a group of parked cars as Sobolewski allegedly kept coming at him. At one point, police say Sobolewski rammed into one parked car and pushed it into another in an attempt to reach the security guard.

Other security workers eventually detained Sobolewski and held him until police arrived.

Sobolewski was booked into the El Paso County jail, where records show he remains in custody Sunday morning on a $50,000 bond. He is expected to be charged with attempted first-degree murder.
