DENVER (AP) - Police say a drunken man on a motorized scooter struck an officer and then collided with a parked car in downtown Denver.
The man reportedly suffered minor injuries in the incident Saturday. The officer wasn't hurt.
Denver Police spokesman Kurt Barnes said the man would be cited on a charge of driving under the influence.
The officer was directing traffic after a Colorado Rockies game when the scooter struck him.
Barnes says scooter crashes are becoming more common in Denver.
Saturday's incident occurred six weeks after a man was killed when his motorized scooter collided with a car in Denver. Policy say the scooter veered into oncoming traffic and the driver of the car was not cited.
