COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A man with an active warrant now faces even more charges after allegedly injuring a police officer who was trying to arrest him.

According to police, officers were responding to a disturbance near Bass Pro Shop just after 10 p.m. and learned on the way there was already an existing warrant for suspect Tryvone Brooks' arrest. After getting on scene, Brooks, 21, allegedly saw the officers and ran off. He was quickly apprehended and started kicking and fighting the officers off.

Police say one of the officers was kicked in the hand and suffered a minor injury.

Brooks now faces charges of second-degree assault on a police officer and obstruction, on top of his existing charges.
