Neighborhood evacuated during SWAT standoff

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) Yet another situation of heavy law enforcement presence in the Security Widefield area.

Over the last two days there have been two SWAT stand-offs and a deadly shooting, all within a few miles of each other.

On Tuesday, deputies with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office attempted to serve a summons related to a domestic violence case. The suspect inside a home near McBurney Blvd and Willis Drive allegedly refuse to come out.

Investigators said the suspect also had misdemeanor warrants out for his arrest.

After several hours the man came outside and was taken into custody.

Neighbors told 11 News, it's unsettling to see so much police activity in their area lately.

"We had the house that was on fire last night and the shooting the night before. It's like, is it safe to live in this neighborhood anymore?" said Rebecca Showlater who lives nearby.
