CIMARRON HILLS, Colo. (KKTV) - Sub-zero wind chill didn't stop crooks overnight, who struck at multiple Cimarron Hills homes overnight.

Between 2:33 a.m. and 3:43 a.m., El Paso County sheriff's deputies responded to reported burglaries at seven homes on Leoti Drive and Warrenton Way. The sheriff's office said the crooks appeared to be prowling the neighborhood for unlocked cars because there were no reports of broken car windows -- but multiple reports of items stolen out of vehicles.

Among the items stolen were garage door openers, but EPSO told 11 News it doesn't appear anything was stolen out of the homes.

A separate burglary in Monument around the same time may also be linked to the same crime spree, the sheriff's office said.

Investigators are now looking at surveillance to determine how many suspects were involved.
