Abducted children found safe in El Paso County, mother arrested

HANOVER, Colo. (KKTV) - UPDATE 11/5/18:
On Monday the El Paso County Sheriff's Office received a tip which led them to a home where they found a mom and children at the center of an AMBER Alert.

On Sunday the alert was issued for two children who were reportedly taken by Diana Moreira during a supervised visit in California. Deputies found the kids and Moreira in the Hanover area just southeast of Colorado Springs. They were found at an address in the 16200 block of Mountain Plain Drive. Moreira was taken into custody without incident. Both children were unharmed.

Moreira is being held on an outstanding felony warrant out of San Jose for Kidnapping.

A California woman who allegedly abducted her two children may be heading to Colorado Springs.

An Amber Alert was issued Saturday for two children, who police say were taken by their mother, Diana Moreira, during a supervised visit Friday evening.

CBS San Francisco reports Moreira was playing with her two children at a park in San Jose as an assigned social worker looked on. When the social worker took the older child to the bathroom, Moreira and her son disappeared. While the social worker looked for them, the other child vanished too.

They were believed to be in a gray 2012 Mini Cooper sedan with California license plate 6UWL251. It's not clear why investigators believe she's heading to Colorado Springs.

Anyone with information on the missing children is asked to call 911 or the San Jose Police Department at 408-277-8900.
