EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - The Colorado community will have a chance to learn more about a project that has been in the works for years with the goal of helping veterans in need.

The founder of "Mattersville" is speaking during seminars this weekend for the Colorado Springs Home & Landscaping Show & Pet Expo. Mattersville is a sustainable tiny community project for veterans suffering from PTSD or homelessness. The founder, Drew Robertson, is talking on Friday and Sunday at the show. The schedule can be viewed at the bottom of this article.

The housing and job training non-profit is hoping to break ground in Colorado sometime in 2019.

"There are a lot of wonderful veterans out there and it's going to be great to give back to them," Robertson explained.

The group is pushing forward with plans and still has to work out a location. Click here for more on the Mattersville.

The Landscaping show is taking place at the Colorado Springs Events Center, 3960 Palmer Park Boulevard from Friday through Sunday. Click here for more information.
