Masked burglars attempt to break into home in northeast Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Officers were investigating Friday morning after an attempted burglary was reported on the northeast side of Colorado Springs.

According to police, it happened at 300 Elwood Drive around 4:10 a.m.

The victim told officers they were woken up by knocking at the front and back doors. The victim believed that someone was trying to break in because they could hear the door handles jiggling.

The victim yelled, saying they had called police and triggered one of the suspects to run away from the home.

Shortly after that, the victim claims that they heard something that sounded like a gunshot outside the front of the house.

Police said the suspects were wearing all black with their heads and faces covered.
