Marijuana grow bust in El Paso County

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - Authorities executed a search warrant for a marijuana grow in El Paso County on Tuesday.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office was at a home near Highway 24 and N. Ellicott Highway at about noon. The neighborhood is between Peyton and Calhan. Authorities could be seen in an area off of Painted Horse Circle.

In May of 2018 El Paso County Sheriff Bill Elder told 11 News the amount of illegal grows in our area is overwhelming.

"Marijuana has sidelined a lot of our work," Elder said at the time. There was one week in May of last year when the sheriff's busted 11 illegal grows in just seven days.
