PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) - Police say it was a rough night for a man in downtown Pueblo.
Two officers responded to a parking garage near 2nd and Court just before 4 a.m. Saturday on reports of a fight and "a man on the ground moaning." Once on scene, they discovered the suspect picked a fight with a security guard after the guard asked him to leave the garage -- a fight he lost when the security guard pepper-sprayed him.
The officers caught up with the suspect as he was trying to get out of the area and were told he was just visiting the city.
"The man said he came into town to get help after his father smoked all his meth and took all his money," Capt. Tom Rummel said in a tweet over the incident.
The suspect asked to be taken to the hospital to be treated for the effects of the pepper spray.
He has been cited for instigating the fight with the security guard.
