Colorado Springs man who reportedly threatened to kill neighbor with a sword is in custody

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - On Wednesday night, police were searching for a man who they say could be armed with a sword and dangerous in Colorado Springs.

The suspect, 39-year-old Alfredo Macedo, allegedly threatened to kill his neighbor with a sword on the southeast side of the city.

Police said the call came in around 5:20 p.m. at a home on Tumblewood Grove. That's near S. Circle Drive and Monterey Road.

When officer arrived at the house, the suspect appeared to be inside.

But by the time police were able to obtain a search warrant, neighbors said Macedo had left. Officers searched the home and found multiple swords. Police issued an arrest warrant for Macedo for Felony Menacing.

Thursday morning police went back to his house and he tried escaping through a window. He was eventually arrested after a two-hour standoff.
