COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Police said a suspected drunk driver was arrested Friday afternoon after a major traffic accident in northeast Colorado Springs.

The crash happened just after 3:30 p.m. near Austin Bluffs Parkway and Old Farm Drive. Investigators said 47-year-old Steven Wright lost control while he was driving southwest on Austin Bluffs Parkway. Wright's truck reportedly jumped over the median and struck a small white sedan in oncoming traffic.

The accident then caused the sedan to hit a black SUV.

Wright and two people in the white sedan were taken to a local hospital to be treated for injuries. Nobody in the black SUV was hurt.

Police believe Wright was under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested for vehicular assault, careless driving, and related DUI charges.

Parts of Austin Bluffs Parkway were shut down during the investigation but have since been reopened.
