Man arrested after allegedly hitting Springs officer in the face

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - On Monday, an officer was recovering after a confrontation with a suspect turned physical in southeast Colorado Springs.

The incident happened around 10 p.m. near Highway 87 and Cheyenne Mountain Boulevard.

Police said a report came in about a man being drunk, bleeding and wearing no clothes.

According to officers, when they found the suspect he became aggressive and struck one of the officers in the face.

Both the suspect and officer were taken to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries.

The suspect, Marcel Tiller, has since been released and booked into the Criminal Justice Center.

Tiller had an outstanding warrant and is facing multiple charges including Second Degree Assault On a Peace Officer.
