COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A man is facing charges after Colorado Springs Police say he punched an officer in the face.

It happened Thursday morning on Deerfield Hills Rd. That's in Southeast Colorado Springs near South Academy and Milton E Proby Parkway.

Officers say they were called out to the area because of a camping complaint. They found Albin Ruiz and Amber Chambers. Ruiz had felony warrants out for his arrest.

While officers tried to arrest Ruiz, he allegedly hit an officer in the face. They tried to use a taser but it didn't work.

In addition to the officer that was hit, Police say Ruiz and another officer were also hurt.

Chambers is facing charges, too, accused of lying to police about ruiz's identity.
