COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Police arrested a man Friday night after he allegedly lead police on chase, and assaulted his girlfriend.

Around 10:49 p.m., officers responded to a domestic disturbance call near the 3800 block of South Chelton Road.

Police said they tried to wave down the suspect's vehicle, but the man took off and drove away.

The suspect reportedly ran a red light near South Chelton Road and South Academy Boulevard. When he did that, an officer - who was out on patrol - used his cruiser to crash into the suspect's vehicle.

After investigating, police determined that the man had assaulted his girlfriend. Investigators believe the suspect had followed her and even rammed into her vehicle at one point.

The man, who has not been identified, was taken into custody.

Police said two people had to be transported to a local hospital for minor injuries, but it's not clear which individuals were hurt.
