A missing elderly man was found Monday night walking to the senior living center where his wife resides.

A community-wide alert went out Monday evening after 87-year-old Ray Austin went missing from the Broadmoor Court assisted living center near South Nevada and Cheyenne Road. Austin had last been seen shortly before 2 p.m. and there were concerns for his safety, as he suffers from stage one dementia.

A representative with Bethesda Senior Living Communities, which operates Broadmoor Court, told 11 News that police located Austin just up the road from Brookdale Skyline, where he once lived with his wife.

"This individual was found by CSPD last night, less than 1/4 mile from the senior living community (Brookdale Skyline) where his wife still reside [sic], walking towards her community. He recently moved from Brookdale Skyline (Independent Living) to our Assisted Living community," said Regional Vice President of Operations Joshua Thomas in a short statement to 11 News.

Brookdale Skyline is located west of 21st Street and Lower Gold Camp Road. Austin had walked more than 5 miles to his wife's home.

UPDATE: Raymond "Ray" Austin has been located. Thanks to the public for their assistance. The Colorado Springs Police...
